My extensive travelling provided me with a plethora of inspiration. In the beginning, I painted portraits and landscapes. I was inspired by the subtle colors and rough textures of nature. I was intrigued by old objects, weathered walls, oxidized metals and textured materials. I like to replicate this sensibility and texture in my work.
I enjoy painting in layers, with the use of brushes, spatulas and found objects. I prefer to use vibrant colors which I mix myself. I slightly thin my paint oruse glazes for transparency and let the textures and colors build with each layer. I like to create work that has amazing depth and under-glowing effects to evoke a certain richness missing in abstract art today.
